This shockingly horror film is now considered a classic of its genre. It's much more complete and better written than most slasher flicks. The list of the young-studded cast starts with Neve Campbell. She's the focal point in the orginal and sequel of the SCREAM series. Courteney Cox plays the hard-nosed reporter who won't stop at an attempt to get the scoop. The writing of Kevin Williamson and the direction from Wes Craven really solidifies this movie as one of the all-time great thrillers. The script is crisp, the direction is super-sharp, and the suspense is down right perfect.
What separates this film from all of the other horror fims is its very twisty and ingenius plot. SCREAM is definitely the best horror movie of this generation, and aside from the original HALLOWEEN or PSYCHO, it is arguably one of the best horror movie of all generations. The suprise hit of 1996 is a franchise in the making. |
