Scent of a Woman (1992)
CAST: Chris O'Donnell, Al Pacino
DIRECTOR: Martin Brest
MPAA RATING: R
RUNNING TIME: 157 Minutes
STUDIO: Universal

This Best Picture nominee invites us into a story about a blind army colonel who needs someone to look after him while his family goes away for Thanksgiving. O'Donnell is the lucky candidate that gets to accompany this bitter, hardheaded man. A trip to New York City is where we see the kid and the Colonel most of the time. Pacino keeps this from being a typical "bumpy starting out, but then growing a good relationship" type movie. O'Donnell is nothing special. The great Pacino, who won Best Actor for this strong performance, overmatches him. Lacking in a few minor areas, Scent of a Woman is genuinely a good story, with Pacino making it that much better. Hoo-wah!
