Another unique Alfred Hitchcock film. This one involves James Stewart. After injuring his leg, Stewart is stuck in his apartment and in a wheelchair. While he sets in his room all day long, his only entertainment is his fellow neighbors in the apartment across from his. Everyday it's the same routine with them, except he begins to notice one thing wrong. He suspects a murder. When one of the tenants' wife is missing, he believes the husband has done away with her. The entire picture is set in his room, but that's what makes it so special. You get the feel you're in his shoes, as he watches everyday if anything peculiar is about to happen. The lovely and beautiful Grace Kelly lends a solid performance as Stewart's fiancee. She becomes much more intrigued about Stewart's guessing of a murder as the movie goes on. This is yet another classic from Hitchcock, it's direction is precise, as you get a first-hand look at the lives of the other neighbors. The film gives you clues as to whether or not there is a murder, but doesn't reveal the secret until the very end of the film. It's fascinating what you can see and find out from a rear window.
