When people mention scary movies, the often discuss the "Friday the 13th" films, the "Halloween" films, "Scream", and so on. Yet, you never hear "Pumpkinhead" mentioned. Why? For an extremely low-budget offering, the movie still has some scares. And the creature? You know Pumpkinhead would be the crap out of any of those so called serial killers.

What budget the film does have goes to the creature. He looks great, even if we only get quick cuts of him, probably due to the budget. Stan Winston, effects wizard behind "T2", "Alien", and "Jurassic Park", is behind the camera this time. He does a fairly good job, even though that script may hurt your ears at times. Some nifty trick shots and some flat out eerie moments make "Pumpkinhead" easy to mention in the same sentence as the other horror flicks.
