This is arguably Alfred Hitchcock's finest work. This has to be the best thriller in movie history. There are so many great things about this movie, starting with the plot. An off-the-highway motel run by a "psycho" is very impressive, especially at the time the movie was made. Now a days, there's been numerous movies that have taken parts of Psycho's structure. Having the female lead star, Janet Leigh, killed mid-way through the movie was an ingenious move on the part of Hitchcock. But the movie's real star is Anthony Perkins. He does a brilliant job in the film as the "mentally challenged" young man who runs the motel. The music from this classic is easily the most chilling, nerve-racking type of all-time. And the shower scene in which Leigh gets killed has to rank as the most frightening event in a movie this century.
