"They're coming to get you Barbara." That line comes from George A. Romero's terrifying classic, Night of the Living Dead. Made over 30 years ago, Dead is still very disturbing.

The only explanation we get from the film as to why the dead are attacking is radiation. But there isn't a real definite answer. That leaves open the reasoning behind the attacks, which makes the movie that much more scary.

I don't think anyone would call the pacing relentless, but just the idea of dead people attacking is eerie. It's difficult to kill something that's already dead. And they just keep coming and coming and coming. Most of the film takes place in an old house that puts six strangers together to fend for their lives. They're inability to work with each other will seal their fate in the end.

And speaking of endings, this film doesn't have a cheery one. It's downright spooky. The film has some classic scenes, such as the one where the little girl kills her parents. That scene was horrorific, just imagine what it was like in the theater 30 years ago. Since this was released years after Psycho, it was probably a little easier to digest by audiences. The only thing digesting in this film is the flesh that the ghouls are feasting on.
