The third Bond film is widely considered by most to be the best of the series. I don't doubt their claim. After watching this one, I've concluded that this 007 outing is the most clever of the collection. Connery is the best James Bond, period. Roger Moore was too witty and Timothy Dalton was...well, that's just say he was too Timothy Dalton. Pierce Brosnam, the current Bond, is easily the second best.
Having that said, Connery is just so smooth as the secret agent. You believe he is James Bond and not some guy who's playing the part. This version of Bond solidified the role and it made Connery an international star. Once you add that to a very cool villian and a story that actually makes sense, then the result is 007 at its finest. This was also the first motion picture to introduce the "laser". |
