John Travolta gives another hard-nosed performance in the suspense thriller THE GENERAL'S DAUGHTER. This time, Travolta plays an Army officer investigating a rape event. The victim is the general's daughter. Travolta must risk his life to find out who the guilty party is.
The movie is good when Travolta and James Woods square off. Their chemistry on-screen is excellent. The movie is basically a guessing game as to who committed the rape. There is a little bit of action, but it's dialogue that dominates the film. Director Simon West's (CON AIR) major mistake in the movie was showing the rape scene. It's painful enough to have to hear about it. It's worse when you have to see it. |
