Fargo (1996)
CAST: William H. Macy, Francis McDormand, Steve Buscemi, Peter Stormare
DIRECTOR: Joel Coen
MPAA RATING: R
RUNNING TIME: 97 Minutes
STUDIO: Gramercy

One of the most bizarre tells in recent memory. This is truly a definition of dark comedy drama. Its a story of 2 thugs who are hired by a man to kidnap his own wife. And a Minnesota policewoman is investigating the events that take place in Brainerd. Those events include 3 people who are murdered by the 2 thugs. What starts out as humorous drama turns out to be a number of horrid events that take place thereafter. This movie surprised many audiences, as it was pegged as a comedy. This films new genre is sure to spark film makers to begin adapting its technique.

This now classic is one of my all-time favorites. It's a movie that you can watch over and over and still be impressed with the acting, directing, and the script. It was nominated for Best Picture and was Siskel & Eberts movie of the year in 1996. William H. Macy should have won Best Supporting Actor for his performance.
