John Boorman's striking, and disturbing tale of a canoing trip gone bad gives a new meaning to the word suspense. Once 4 men get going on their trip, something happens that changes the entire outlook. They go from enjoying the time in the lake to surviving it.

Nominated for 3 Oscars, including Picture, Deliverance is a terrifying tale. It features great peformances, especially from Voight. Marked the debuts of Beatty and Cox. The "Mountain Men" scene is one of the most frightening on record.
