| War-like experience following 3 factory workers who decide to fight in Vietnam. The main point the story tries to make is how war can improve, destroy, or have no effect on a person's life. Dominating the movie are horrific scenes involving deadly games of Russian Roulette. Draggy at times, this movie has the ability to smother its audience. Performances are pretty good, with De Niro standing out. Meryl Streep received an Oscar nomination that she didn't deserve. Her performance was anything but spectacular. A Best Picture winner, The Deer Hunter has a few big holes in its entertainment file. |
