| Loose remake of Wings of Desire, City of Angels stars Nicolas Cage as an angel who wants to become human in order to be with Meg Ryan. There didn't seem to be any real connection between Ryan and Cage. Cage's character seemed hidden throughout, as though he really was an angel and invisible on screen. The film does have good ideas though. Dennis Franz, as an angel-turned-human, gives a good performance. I just wished Cage was used a bit more. He's too good an actor to just throw on screen. |
