Jack Nicholson portrays a private investigator whos in over his head over the case hes involved in. Hes checking out scandalous events that involve Los Angeles water supply. Nicholson is at his absolute best in this film. His brilliance overwhelms the viewer once again. For some reason, he did not pick up an Oscar for this performance, but was nominated. He provides everything a actor could possibly offer in this movie-bits of comedy, anger, and an overall great piece of acting.
Faye Dunaways performance is not to be overlooked. She shines as the person who Nicholson is investigating for. Their on-screen chemistry is in top form. Her part in the movie netted her an Oscar nomination.
The film is one of the best. Numerous plot twists and an excellent script are just two of many great things about the picture. Itll keep your eyes open and has plenty to offer. Nominations include Best Picture and the film is especially recommended for those who love crime movies and for fans of Jack Nicholson, which is pretty much everyone.
