If you were to pick out a serial killer from the movies, the one that may strike as the most intriguing is that little doll Chucky. Of the now 4 "Chucky" movies, this one is probably the most entertaining. Though not a big fan of the "Chucky" series, I have to admit that I kinda liked this movie.
Unlike the last 3, this one focused more on humor and sometimes-funny one-liners than just simple killings. There were a few grisly deaths, and one that was definitely not pretty to look at. I'm sure the filmmakers of this franchise pretty much ran out of ideas after 3 movies, but this time they through in another ingredient. Another doll may be just what this franchise needed to boost sales. Jennifer Tilly plays Charles Lee Ray's old flame. Remember, he's the guy that transformed his soul into that adorable doll. She's bent on revenge and pieces Chucky back together. One thing leads to another, and she finds herself waking from the dead in a doll's body. They share a few murders, a few jokes, and a bed. I didn't expect much at all when I entered the theater, but who would? Maybe that's why I thought this was a decent movie. If you don't expect too much, and you get a little bit of entertaining, then you have to feel you got your money's worth. This was the best Chucky doll of the 4. This one had plenty of humor (some was cheesy) and a face that could kill. The neat ending spells out the word S-E-Q-U-E-L. |
