Sonny Koufax (Adam Sandler) is having problems with his girlfriend. She wants him to grow up. Sonny's problems are answered when a 5 year old kid is dropped off at house. Sonny feels that if he adopts the kid, then it will show his girlfriend that he's mature. He finds out that taking care of the kid is trouble at first, but begins to connect with him.
I wouldn't use this movie as a way to show how to take care of children. Sandler's character isn't exactly the typical role model. But this movie isn't designed to show you how to take care of children, it's designed to make you laugh. The movie is much funnier than Sandler's last flick, THE WATERBOY. Mainly because the writing is much better and Sandler isn't using that horrible baby talk. Sandler gets help from Schneider with the jokes and the twins who play Sandler's new son do a good job. This is a movie that is just plain fun. |
