Alien (1979)
CAST: Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt
DIRECTOR: Ridley Scott
MPAA RATING: R
RUNNING TIME: 116 Minutes
STUDIO: 20th Century Fox

The first of 4 Alien movies may be the best, at least slightly better than Aliens. It doesn't have the dazzling special effects as the other ones do, but it's plot is much better. The alien that was accidentally brought on board, emerges from one of the unlucky crewman's stomach. One by one, it begins to take out the crew. Director Ridley Scott's setting of the movie has a dark, grimlike presence. Sigourney Weaver makes her mark as her crew gets taken out by the not too slimey alien.
