Movie
It's not scary by our standards, but it was one of the stepping stones for horror films. The Wolf Man is part of the elite group of monsters, which also includes Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Mummy.
Disc
Though a good product overall, this Classic Monster disc feels a little bit on the lazy side. First off, the menus are very generic. Yes, they are animated, barely, and they do have music, but they don't compare at all to the other monster menus. The features are okay. The documentary is more focused on telling us things about other wolf movies instead of this one. I really don't care about THE WEREWOLF OF LONDON. The video is poor when compared to FRANKENSTEIN and his BRIDE. It is very, very grainy for the first 30 minutes. After that, the print looks fine. The audio is better than the other monster dvds. The score is easily heard and all the dialogue can be made out. The audio is nothing special, but it does as good as it can with mono 2.0.
Overall
This is my favorite Universal monster. I bought it for the film only and could care less if the dvd had no features on it. I shouldn't have to recommend this film.
