Movie
It's a James Cameron film, so you know it's gonna have action. And action it has, lots of it. It's pratically nonstop. Arnold is in fine form as he plays a U.S. Spy who must stop terrorists from setting off nuclear weapons on the U.S. More humor that you might expect. Tom Arnold is hilarious as Schwarzenegger's sidekick.
Disc
Features: Fox=nada. That's pretty much the tagline, although they are slowly beginning to sprinkle a few on some of their other newer titles. This movie has the trailer, but it gets an extra 1/2 point for having animated menu screens. These are very cool and loud. This is definitely one of the best sounding dvds out. It has the prescious THX label on it, which means it was digitally mastered. It is true. This is one loud disc, especially the scenes with the Harrier Jet. You'll feel the bass off of those scenes. Fox usually has has good transfers, but this looks to be the old LD transfer. It's still pretty good. The colors are strong, the picture is sharp, and there's no major signs of grain. The film looks a bit dark however.
Overall
This one belongs in the collection. You can't go wrong with a Cameron/Arnold connection. Plus, the sound will test those woofers and have them begging for more. Highly recommended for the movie only.
