Very scary and gory remake from John Carpenter. When 12 men are trapped in Anarctica, they must try and stop the alien being. With the ability to immitate anything, the thing is able to take over any of the 12 men. Great fun trying to guess who has been is human and who is alien. Great f/x for its age.

Disc
THE THING has an enormous amount of features. The best of the group is the 80-minute documentary that includes interviews with Carpenter and Kurt Russell. The audio is superb. The explosions, the thing's screams, and the bombs will rock the house. The video transfer is very, very good. The film is over 15 years, but it looks brand new. The colors are strong, no grain.

Highly recommended for anyone, especially Carpenter junkies
