Movie
The ninth entry in the long series features the most advanced special effects. The storyline is pretty good, too. More humor can be found. This is Frakes second straight job directing the Star Trek movies.
Disc
I almost had a heart attack when I found something on the disc that wasn't called theatrical trailer. There is also a teaser trailer and a nice behind-the-scenes featurette. Paramount, finally, you put something else on the disc. This is where the disc really excels. There is tons of bass to be heard, especially in the last 30 minutes of the film. The lasers shot are forceful and the flying ships only make your system work harder. Awesome! Paramount has made yet another terrific transfer. This one is perfect with nothing noticeable. Excellent.
Overall
This is a good disc to test out a speaker system. Trekkies will be amused as well as sci-fi junkies. Recommended.
