Movie
Speed was a huge box office hit when it was released in '94. You know the story, "stay above 50, or the bomb will explode." Keanu Reeves buffs up for the role of Jack Traven and kicks major butt in his best role ever. Sorry, but he's better here than he was in The Matrix. Bullock is sassy as always, and Hopper, though over-the-top, enjoys his role of the madman bomber. Lots of intensity, plenty of excitement, and tons of action make Speed one of the best blockbusters ever. Just make sure not to see its sequel.

Disc
In terms of features, this disc is bare, bare, bare. Plus, there is not anamorphic transfer, something all of Fox's early dvd releases never got. Still, the audio is what you'll want on this dvd. It rocks. I mean, this movie is about bombs, so you know the bass kicks butt. That first exploding bus scene may be the loudest scene I have ever heard. That subwoofer will blow you out of the room during that sequence. The video would have benefited from an anamorphic transfer, but it still looks better than ld and vhs.

Overall
Whoa. Go get this just for the audio. Recommended.
