Movie
George A. Romero's eerie classic is still frightening today. This dvd contains a new score, which is quite frigtening itself. Features the famous line, "they're coming to get you Barbara." One of the most popular cult-classics of all-time; also one of the scariest movies ever made.
Disc
I've read that the Elite version of the movie is the one to get. If you can't find it, go get this one. There are 5 new scenes that have been put in and 2 of them are good. The other 3 are pretty bad, as it is easy to see they're "new". Thankfully, the original version is also included. Both include the new score, which is haunting, but it tends to be too loud sometimes. The features are very good. Having 2 movies on one side of a disc is always a plus. There's a pretty decent 9-minute featurette, but the best feature is without a doubt the commentary. The video of the film is pretty sharp. There are a couple of roughed-up scenes and some minor pixelation, but other than that, the transfer is flawless. The audio has been remastered with a new 5.1 mix, and you can tell. The thunder at the beginning sounds much better. The music is great, but at times it's so loud you can't hear what's going on in the film. All minor complaints however.
Overall
This isn't the expensive Limited Edition. This is the single special edition and it's just as good. Same features, same movies. If you hate the new scenes, just don't watch the 30th Anniversary version. Just watch the original, like I did. Recommended if you can't find the Elite disc.
