Film
This mega box office hit has Tom Cruise playing a secret agent, who's mission is to recover a disc that contains valuable information. Without getting into plot details, which is wise, considering the movie is extremely complex, Cruise must get the disc into the right hands, but he'll have to dodge the bad guys along the way.

Audio
Who cares about features when you have audio like this? This is an earlier dvd release, yet it's audio holds up with the newer releases. The surrounds could have been used a bit more, as most of the sound is up front. Strong bass is the highlight, and I'm glad, because I'm all about some bass. The helicopter scene near the end will give you rear channel guys something to brag about.
Video
For a non-16x9 transfer, this one looks very good. No shimmering to be found, and the print is about as clean as it can be. Obviously, the 16x9 would give the picture more detail, but it still looks great. The reason for the non-anamorphic support is this dvd was released before Paramount fully supported the format.
Overall
If you like Cruise, which many do, and if you like action, which most do, I see no reason why you shouldn't buy this dvd. If you want features, go elsewhere. If you want a fun Cruise film with great audio, put down your $20+ and get this one.
