Film
The first half of the film was much more enjoyable than the latter. With about 30 minutes left in the film, it switches the gears into drama mode, as you find out about Kauffman getting cancer.

This dramatic part of the film, and which is also the most important, is handled rather sloppy by director Milos Forman. The man spends the whole movie showing Kauffman's snippets, then decides to cram in the last part with the cancer story.

Features
Universal continues to show other studios out to put a "standard" release together. There are features here that easily qualify for a Collector's Edition label. The 20-minute featurette focuses the first half on Andy's life and the second on the making of the film. Very enjoyable.

Next are some deleted scenes and hidden clips of Andy himself. The one thing missing? A commentary by Jim Carrey. What a better opportunity for Carrey to show how much he admired the late comedian. It's a shame will never get a recorded commentary from him.

Audio
Another great mix from Universal. This talky drama needs no surround or bass. The dialogue, which is all geared in the front channels, was recorded very clearly. Everything is heard without straining.

Video
Not quite as impressive as most Universal 16x9 transfers. There are a few dark scenes that are alittle too black and there is some grain here and there. Aside from these tiny flaws, your eyes shouldn't have a problem watching this film.

Overall
For the general audience and the fan of "talking butt" Jim Carrey, I only recommend a rental. To everyone else, which is film buffs and drama fans, you shouldn't be disappointed with this one.
