The third Bond film is widely considered by most to be the best of the series. I don't doubt their claim. After watching this one, I've concluded that this 007 outing is the most clever of the collection. Connery is the best James Bond, period.
Disc
The best Bond film deserves the best treatment. It doesn't get any better than this. GOLDFINGER is part of the first wave of special edition dvds. Boy, is this disc loaded. Not only are their 2 commentary tracks, but there are also 2 documentaries. They will tell you any and everything about GOLDFINGER. I found the second one to be very informative. Though the audio is mono, it still sounds very good. Sure, there's no booming bass that you'll find on Goldeneye, but the score takes full advantage. This is a great score. The video is also very impressive. 35 years is alot in movie years, but this dvd has solid color and not too much shimmering or dust.
Overall
James Bond is arguably the most recognized movie character of all-time. The die-hard Bond fans have already got the first collection, but if you're just a regular Bond fan, then this dvd is a good starting point for your collection. Highly recommended.
