Movie
Famke Janssen is the highlight in this adventure. Her evil "Onatopp" Russian is very enjoyable to watch. The series has evolved from the old days, thank goodness. You can't have a 60s character appear as one in the 90s. Brosnan will dominate this series for awhile and that is a good thing. The Bond's and their films vary, but one thing is certain. He'll always save the day.
Disc
The second newest dvd in the first wave of 007 flicks. GOLDENEYE is the only disc with 1 commentary, but who cares. This baby has outstanding menus and 3, count 'em, 3 featurettes. One is about an hour, then another is 30 minutes, and the last is about 10-15 minutes. Lots of information to be found in those. The audio is close to TOMORROW NEVER DIES, but it doesn't have as much punch. The surrounds are solid, but the front speakers didn't have as much bass as I would've liked. Still, it's impressive. The video is fine for the most part. There are some scratches on the print, but in all, it's a great transfer. One of the better Bond dvds.
Overall
Although I liked TND and THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH better, I'll easily recommend this film.
