Film
A film about the mafia and a hired gun may seem like 100% drama, but there's plenty of humor to enjoy. The mob guys are great, as a cast of unknowns fill out the Family. One guy loves rap music, while the other watches cartoons. You'll love the scene where one of them is dishing out a verse from Flavor Flav. Funny stuff.

Tense, dramatic, humorous, and violent, "Ghost Dog" is really a great film. There hasn't been a film like this in a very long time.

Features
Not loaded, but definitely not skimpy either. The documentary is nice. It features interviews with Whiatker, Jarmusch, and The RZA. Very informative. You'll also get some outtakes and the isolated score! The only thing missing is a commentary track from the 3 guys mentioned above.

Audio
Man, when you have a soundtrack like this, you'll wish you could hear it in beautiful 5.1 surround. It's great. The bass is very deep, especially when RZA drops one of his beats in. For the actual movie, everything is solid. The surrounds are quite as active as the front channels, but no complaints here.

Video
A pristine 16x9 transfer from Artisan. This is completely flawless, free of grain and dust. No shimmering, discoloring, no nothing. Praise, praise, and more praise.

Overall
This tiny film was overlooked by most and I'd say most people still has no clue what this film is. Well, it's a very good film and one of the better ones of 1999. Recommended.
