It's been 5 years since the massacre at "Crystal Lake". But that won't stop several young teens from camping out. Their camp is near where Jason's mommy sliced and diced.

The first sequel is actually better than the original, mainly because Jason finally gets to do the hacking. No hockey mask yet, though. But he still looks spooky in the one-eyed potato sack.

Features some nifty death sequences. Steve Miner, who directed the highly successful "Halloween: H20", keeps the pacing pretty good and unleashes a few scares. Decent fun.

Features
1 stinkin' trailer. There's probably not any extras available for a movie like this.

Audio
The mono track is fairly good. This is an early 80s production, so don't expect what 5.1 can offer. You'll be able to hear everything, even the spooky Jason music.

Video
Ah, seeing this film in widescreen is a pleasure. Add the fact that this version acutally has some life in its color. Have you seen those tv or vhs versions? Ugh. Paramount can make anything look new.

Overall
Better than the first, but that's not saying a whole lot. Rent.
