"The first rule of fight club is: do not talk about fight club." "The second rule of fight club is: DO NOT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB!" Those statements come from Brad Pitt, who is a co-creator of fight club. Fight club is a way for men who are fed up with their boring lives and senseless jobs they go to. It's a violent vacation that feels like it belongs in the Twilight Zone.

The film is as brutal as any movie I've seen. The fights are authentic and very bloody. FIGHT CLUB requires at least 2 viewings to answer the questions you'll have. After the first viewing, you'll feel like you've been in a fight.

Features
Has there ever been more features put on a dvd release? It's hard to say whether this movie, or THE ABYSS, has the most features. Both are 2-disc sets, but this one may have the edge in overall coolness.

The menus are pretty hip. They start you off on the right track before you get to the movie. By far the best feature is the not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 commentary tracks! The best is the first one, by David Fincher. He points out alot things about the production of the film and he's very funny and enthusiastic. Too often commentaries almost put you to sleep, but Fincher keeps things fresh.

There are 17 behind-the-scenes featurettes. The best in that group is the production, which shows some footage of different props the filmmakers used. There's also storyboards, tons of trailers and tv spots, and deleted scenes. And yes, the famous abortion line is in there. The best scene is the other cut of the fight between Norton and Leto. It's much more brutal and it'll cause you to turn away from the screen.

Lastly, there is a THX option that allows you to set your audio and video to the right modifications to fully enjoy the movie. It's alittle confusing to use, but it is a great touch by Fox.

When you throw in the ultra cool packaging, and that THX option, this has got to be the best featured dvd released to date. Forget A BUG'S LIFE, the ARMAGEDDON CRITERION, even THE ABYSS, FIGHT CLUB puts them to shame.

Audio
The audio is almost as aggressive as the movie's tone. The bass stays pumping throughout the whole movie. From the badass score, to the fight sequences. The surrounds are also very lively, as you'll pick up every bell and whistle the film offers. A great 5.1 track.

Video
As with all of David Fincher's movies, this one is extremely dark. But with this terrific 16x9 transfer, none of the picture or detail is lost. You can pick up everything throughout the extremely deep blacks. There's not much color used, but there shouldn't be. This is a violent and aggressive movie, and the darkness serves the purpose. There's some grain to be found, but it's intentional. This transfer is as good as they come. Fox is really starting to dominate the dvd market.

Overall
Easily one of the most anticipated dvd titles ever released. Not only is it the most featured dvd, but it sports a great transfer and a very clear 5.1 mix. The total package.
