Movie
Ah-nuld has battled many enemies, but none as powerful as pure Evil. The Devil has come back to find his bride on the eve of the Millenium. It's up to Arny to stop him. Anytime Arnold is the good guy, you know the bad guy isn't going to win, even if it is Satan himself. Though the plot is silly, the cast and the action are top notch. Gabriel Byrne has alot of fun as the "The Man". Kevin Pollack, who plays Arnold's sidekick, spouts off one-liners faster than you can blink. With a film this dark, thank goodness there is some comic relief.
Disc
Though it has that famous gold printing "Collector's Edition" at the top of the packaging, this dvd could have used more features. I've seen more features on some of Universal's standard discs. There's a 25-minute featurette, which is standard, and a running commentary from the director. Other than that, the rest of the features are pretty weak. Really, how many times are you gonna watch that Rob Zombie video? Probably the same amount as me...zero. With some average features, the video is far more impressive. This film is dark as they get, yet the transfer is just excellent. There's only about 2 seconds of pixelation, other than that, it's totally flawless. For the audio, I was expecting a little more bass, but in all, it's a great mix. The surround speakers are used nicely, with the music providing the most bass. With as many explosions in this film, you will want more bass than the dvd offers. Heck, the menus, which are super cool, have more rumblings than the movie. Go figure.
Overall
This movie is stricly recommended for Ah-nuld fans. Being one of them, I had to buy this. If you're not a die-hard, rent it. It'll pass the time.
