Movie
This dark comedy offers some very crude humor. Oh, there's an election going on too. Tracey Flick (Reese Witherspoon) is destined to become the class president. Her nemesis is her teacher, Mr. McAllister (Matthew Broderick), who is so sick of Flick that he must stop her from winning. Very funny movie with some classic moments.
Disc
Paramount distributes some of the best looking and sounding discs. Their quality in the audio and video department are unmatched. Of course, they're stingy with their features. This disc actually has audio commentary, of course that's it. There is no trailer, which has become a standard for dvds. I guess by adding it in would have broken Paramount's "1 feature" policy. The audio is crisp. The dialogue is very well recorded and although there is no need for surround effects, the disc uses them quite well. The video is flawless with very strong colors. This one is perfect.
Overall
If you like dark comedies, pick this one up. The disc is worth the price simply for Witherspoon's unforgettable and terrific performance.
