Movie
Ashley Judd is wrongly accused of murdering her husband. When she finds out her conviction, she immediately realizes that she will be taken away from her young son. He happens to be the only thing she cares about, especially since it was her husband who set her up. The "surprise" is not surprising at all, since the movie's trailer tells you the husband is to blame. It's a shame too. If Paramount had kept some scenes out of the trailer, the movie would have been much better.
Disc
Paramount looks like they're getting out of the habit of putting just the trailer on their dvds. The General's Daughter was their first special edition, Sleepy Hollow is suppose to be loaded, and Double Jeopardy actually has more than one feature. Okay, so it only has 2 features, but it's a start. The featurette is surprisingly 13 minutes long. I was expecting the usually shallow 2 to 5 minutes of self-promotion, but this one actually has more than scenes from the film. The trailer is also included. The video is outstanding, just like every other anamorphic Paramount transfer. Beautiful scenery benefits from the 16x9 enhancement and the film sports strong colorization. The audio is also great. Dialogue is nicely recorded, with strong bass and good surround effects. The chase scenes benefit greatly.
Overall
This movie makes no sense and is downright dumb, but you should still have a good time. If you can forgive Jones for chasing another fugitive, you should be fine. Oh, and Ashley Judd is in the movie, which is reason enough to at least rent this. I recommend buying though.
