Movie
John McClane (Bruce Willis) is a New York cop who is accidentally invited to a Christmas party in LA. The host building of the party has been taken over by terrorists. So it's up to Willis to stop the bad guys. This was the action movie that kick started all of the summer blockbusters you see today. It was the first big actioneer for Willis and it is his best. The film features tons and tons of gunfire, explosions, and tense moments. It's smartly directed by John McTiernan. Big box office hit.

Disc
Most Fox dvds don't have any features and are priced to the equivalent of a special edition disc. This dvd, however, does offer animated menus, and a little 5 minute featurette. The featurette was created as the film was being made. The audio is the main attraction though. The explosions feature lots of bass and the helicopter sounds will make good use of your surround speakers. In all, a great audio disc. The video is not as great as the audio, but I still like it. It has strong colors with few pixelation or markings. This looks like a brand new movie.

Overall
This is one of the best blockbusters you will ever see. You should pick it up. Highly recommended.
