Movie
The actual sights and sounds are enough to keep you from ever camping again, but what I found that may have been just as scary was the filmmakers mental breakdowns in the woods. These people were literally falling apart right in front of your eyes. That is what has made this movie such an event. Its authenticity is so realistic. This could happen in the woods. Paranoia is a very real thing. It was for the characters on screen, and I bet it was just as much for the audience too. A good project gone bad, very bad.

The commentary track is the best feature of all. It's very entertaining, and the directors offer some very neat facts about the movie. It's one track you can listen to several times. The video is not demo material simply because of how it was shot. It still looks great. The picture is "windowboxed", which means there are small black bars that surround the entire picture. It's barely noticeable, but I do have one complaint. When you view the extra footage, the picture covers up the entire television screen. If they can do that with the extra footage, why not do the same for the film? Minor gripe though. The audio is only a digital 2.0, which isn't bad. There's really only dialogue and some screaming to be heard. It is nice, though, to be able to hear the cast speak. Watching in the theater, I heard other people's stupid conversations more than I heard the film. I hate when people talk during the movie, hate it.
