I wouldn't use this movie as a way to show how to take care of children. Sandler's character isn't exactly the typical role model. But this movie isn't designed to show you how to take care of children, it's designed to make you laugh.
The movie is much funnier than Sandler's last flick, "The Waterboy". Mainly because the writing is much better and Sandler isn't using that horrible baby talk. Sandler gets help from Schneider with the jokes and the twins who play Sandler's new son do a good job. This is a movie that is just plain fun.
Features
A movie this big should have gotten the special edition treatment. You get a rather lousy 13-minute featurette and the usual space-filler features. You'll be buying this for Sandler anyways.
Audio
A movie like "Big Daddy" doesn't need much sound. The soundtrack sounds clear and the dialogue is easily heard. Another comedy, another reason to not use surround or bass.
Video
Columbia has one again given a great anamorphic transfer. It's hard to tell if they or Paramount are the best at 16x9 transfers, but Columbia is hard to beat. Colors are very geniune and the print is flawless. A great, crystal clear picture.
Overall
One of the funnier Sandler movies. An easy recommendation for purchase.
