1. Count to Six and Die
At the end Manson destroyed Ginger's kit, so I was sad that there
wasn't
going to be an encore, but I had had such an amazing day, that I didn't
mind
all that much. And Ginger fell again when he jumped off of his riser.
I
don't think he was hurt even though he just stayed on all 4's for a
second.
Now for the complete run down of the day:
The festival started at 1 pm with American Hi-Fi on the Main stage. I
was
really impressed with them, they did a really great job. I didn't go
to the
pit stage at all, because I really didn't want to see any of the bands
that
were over there, except Stabbing Westward, but I'll get into that
later.
Around 1:42 pm (all the times are what were printed in the booklet that
you
get upon entering the venue, so I know some of the times are wrong from
what
was performed) Coldplay went on. They were WAY too melo for this type
of
concert. I didn't pay too much attention to them.
At 2:24, Locals Dropkick Murphys went on. Now I'm not the biggest punk
out
there, but I think that they did an excellent show.
At 3:06 Lifehouse went on. They were right up there with Coldplay. I
just
wasn't interrested in them.
3:48: Sevendust. They got me really pumped for the rest of the day.
They
were really good.
4:30, Everlast. The highlight of his performance was when he did "Jump
Around" and "What it's Like".
At 5:12 it was System of a Down. And after a couple songs, it all
sounded
the same, and it just gave me a headache.
The same goes for The Cult, who went on at 5:54 pm. I just had no
interrest
whatsoever in them. Up until this point, I was in the field at what
should
have been the 50 yard line or so.
But when Green Day went on at 6:41, I went into the pit. I started in
right
when they started playing, and got draged up to the 5th row by the end
of
the song. Then I fought my way up even farther, and was second row by
the
time the second song was over. I ended up staying there through Manson
(only at the end I was front row).Green Day was awesome. I really
enjoyed
their set, and to top it off, Tre Cool set his drums on Fire at the
end. It
was cool.
Live was great too. They went on at 7:28 and at 8:13, Ed joined Tricky
and
that performance was outstanding. I loved it. I saw Live 2 years ago
at
River Rave 99, and they were better this year.
At 8:20 the Black Crows took the stage. By this point I was ready to
pass
out, and I would have if it didn't start to rain. That helped alot.
At 9:07, More locals took the stage and everyone by storm. Aerosmith.
What
can I say about Aerosmith? They were...WOW. That's all I can say.
They
blew everyone away. The only sad thing is, they only played 5 songs,
but
it's Aerosmith, so it doesn't matter.
Now, Marilyn Manson. They took the stage at 9:54 pm, and Foxboro will
never
be the same. It was a rotating stage, and when it turned, the first
person
you saw was Johnny 5 trying to hide behind an amp. Then you could see
Ginger behind his set. He looked so fucking good. Then Pogo got onto
his
platform, then Twiggy came from the side, then Manson. They all
(except
Manson) had on the same thing they did for the Lowell show, only Ginger
didn't have the long sleeve shirt, but he hasn't had that since he
fractured
his collar bone. I can't describe what Manson was wearing, you have to
look
at the pictures your self. They were the shit. I'm still in awe of the
performance. And on top of the lights, the sound, the sweat and
everything,
it was raining, the temperature was perfect (even in the pit), and just
behind the stadium there was lightning and unheard thunder. I don't
think
it could have gotten any better.
I can't wait until next year. Here is the web site to the concert if
you
want to see some pictures and stuff on all of the bands that were
there: River Rave
