Day 7 Critical Writing
Paragraph One: The education
multimedia or edutainment is a very appropriate for teaching employees
on a larger scale. By combining elements of visual, sound, movie, and
colors into our learning system it will be easier for employees
to understand the material we have to present to them. We also
have different methods to overcome the human memory such as chunking to
help employees remember material when on the job. Another key benefit
to using multimedia is that the user also had some control and thus can
determine the pace of learning. This is very important when Learning
new skills for a job. When necessary it is also easy to update the
edutainment site as a design team can easily go into the system and
update elements almost instantly.
Paragraph Two: Using multimedia
to teach employees instead of a one on one basis is more cost effective
because once you have the edutainment product produced, your employees
can learn from it indefinitely, unlike the previous method when you
paid the teacher doing one on one all the time. The company is also
held accountable for what goes into the media program because, even
though the student has control of the pace of learning, the company has
direct control of what goes into the media program unlike a teacher who
has some leverage on how to present the material.
Day 14 Critical Writing
Paragraph One: There are several
advantages of using multimedia over lectures or text books. One example
is that by using multimedia you can combine a variety of learning
styles such as visual, kinesthetic, and auditory elements into the
product to appeal to a variety of students. Another example, is
that Multimedia is more interactive so that learners won't become
as bored as easily such as in a textbook or lecture lesson.
Finally, learners can control their own pace of learning so they can
learn faster or slower than normal. The only major disadvantage of
using multimedia as a learning product is that it can be rather costly
to make and buy for use, on the other hand, this price is more than
made up for as the quality of students you produce which in turn
produce higher quality products which in turn make more money.
Paragraph Two: Even though using
multimedia as a learning source will be expensive at first, the long
term benefits more than make up for it. For example when using
multimedia everything is standardized, thus when students work
together, there is no huge difference between knowledge levels
and so, they can work together efficiently because they are on the same
page. Another benefit is that you can effectively keep track of the
pace of students so that you know that they are working learning and
improving. The number of students you would produce would also increase
because multimedia is more effective. In conclusion, using multimedia
as a learning source is very beneficial for every one in the long run
even though initially it might be a little more costly.
