 Funeral of S.J. Katzenstein

Impressive Services, the Masonic Order Taking Part

The funeral of S.J. Katzenstein, who died on Saturday, took place Monday afternoon, the services being conducted at the late home of the deceased,  North Main street, at 2 o’clock by Rabbi Levy, of Wheeling.  These services were of the regular Jewish order, and very impressive. Rabbi Levy’s address being of a nature to hold the attention of all present, and his eulogy of the deceased being touching.  There was a large attendance of Washington friends of the family, while relatives and friends came from near and distant cities.  After the services at the house the Masons took charge of the remains and marched in a body to the cemetery.  The carriers all Masons, were Dr. Geo W. Kelly, J.K. McMillan, T. Jeff Duncan, Esq., J.W. McDowell, Esq., J.W Rothwell, J.E. Miller, Dr. S.H. Wolf and J.W. Wallace.  At the cemetery the services were conducted by that fraternity.
