| NAME:Nerissa Phoenix Drakin APPEARANCE: A dark, mysterious girl of 18, with very long hair, it's coloring the deepest black you could ever find, which is normally tied in a braid. Her eyes are a contrasting green and brown hazel, their demeanor kind, though as mentioned, mysterious. On her forehead rest a small gold circlet, a diamond cut carbunkle residing at its center. Her skin is tanned normally, for she is outside often, and the only mar upon it is an ornate black dragon, which curls around her left breast and up to her collar bone. She wears a deep red shirt which clings to her form, it's long sleeves ending in a V shape. The neckline is off her shoulders and low cut, also a V shape, with an ornate gold embroidery at the neck and sleeve ends. Over the shirt is a leather corset, the same coloring as the shirt. The embroidery of the shirt is folded over it so it all looks like the same peice. She wears black leather pants and knee length boots, and a black leather belt which hangs at her hips. Sheathed at the belt is an ornate dagger, the hilt somehow tinted red, and decorated with gold. Its length is about 12 inches. Over all is a dark red cape, on the back is the Drakin symbol, a black and green dragon with a silver outline. The only other mention would be her horse, Vanima. It's pure white except for at it's eyes, muzzle, and feet, which are black (your basic gray coat). It's a warm blood, meaning it's neither too heavy, nor too light. Vanima is normally a gentle horse, and not spooked easily, and quite intelligent. The only time she becomes restless is when provoked or in battle, where she can defend or attack quiet well. STATUS: Alive and well, and helping those of Raven's Keep. Thoughts of returning to her home slowly fade from her mind day by day as she creates a new life for herself here in Messina. HISTORY: Nerissa is in reality not 18, but rather, more around the age of 29. This will be rather confusing, so I'll start at the beginning. Nerissa Drakin was the Protectoress of Dragon Isle, the Protectoress' lineage dating far back to the first Drakin protectorate (who, unbeknownst to everyone, was a dragon). The lineage is passed down like a matriarchy, though it is ruled by the patriarch. At any rate, when Nerissa was 19, she had a son with the leader of the gargoyles whom protected Drakin Keep, the son's name was Armond. Mixed marriages or families (especially that of the protectorate) within this particular human population was highly frowned upon, and so the gargoyle was forced to leave. But an evil mage changed him into a human, and he returned. With the elders of the keep naive about his true past, the two were married, and had a daughter by the name of Jade. However, when Jade was two Nerissa's zealousness of her husband's change grew too much, and she searched out the mage. There was a fierce battle, and Nerissa was never heard from again by her family, or the people of Drakin Keep. That is what those of the Keep believed, however Nerissa held a secret that would be unleashed 8 years later upon the Keep. She left because of her mate's change, but she also left to stop the mage from wreaking the havoc upon her homeland that she knew would happen if he wasn't stopped. The mage specialized in time and space, and though he was a powerful mage, his spells didn't always end up right. In fact, his spell during their battle landed Nerissa into another dimension, 11 years younger and ignorant of her past within those 11 years, save reoccuring dreams of the battle and her family. Because of her loss of memory from the mage's spell, every time she unconsiously tries to recall memories from the past 11 years a red aura eminates from her, giving her intense pain. RACE: Human Mage, with *very* distant dragon ancestry CAPABILITIES: The protectorates of Drakin Keep are trained in battle and magic at a very young age, and this is the case with Phoenix. She specializes in fire and curative magic, and can use it quiet easily, though too much tends to tire her out. She is also skilled with the dagger at her side, which turns to a flame sword when fights in battle. |
