Appearance:
Kierlon's appearance is highly mutable; in the world of RavensKeep he appears as a human of medium build with black hair, fair skin and grey eyes.  He wears a nondescript brown tunic, leggings, and boots. He carries a wooden staff.

Status:
Centuries ago in Kierlon's home world, demons roamed free and produced a number of hybrid offspring with humans.  These offspring, feared and hunted by the human population, banded together and settled in a relatively isolated valley.  There they thrived, aided by the physical and supernatural powers inherited from their demon forebearers.  Calling themselves Sielhadrin (a word which means roughly more that two halves ;), they now consider themselves neither demon nor human, but an entirely new and different people.

Keirlong -- like most Sielhadrin, possessing a natural affinity for magical work -- studied to be a wizard for many years. He went on to be a Walker, embarking on covert expeditions to explore the outside world of humans. Recently, inspired by a vision, he has become a Far Walker, exploring the worlds on the other side of the several portals found in the Sielhadrins' valley. This is a highly risky calling, since the portals are very unpredictable.Few Far Walkers ever return home.

It was in the world of RavensKeep that Kierlon first found himself. Though he knows that he must return home someday, for now he is content to stay and learn.


Personality:
Kierlon is above all driven by a burning curiosity, about everything: people, places, the mysterious workings of the universe.  He is immensely proud of his heritage, culture and homeland, a pride that sometimes manifests as arrogance and chauvinism towards humans.  This is coupled with an inherent mistrust of humankind -- for he knows that, in his world at least, they would likely kill him if his true nature were discovered. Yet, at the same time, he firmly believes in the Sielhadrin principles of tolerance, respect for differences, and seeking out new knowledge.

Skills:
Kierlon can acquit himself in combat with staff, knife, or open hand.  He has higher than average strength, very high endurance, and a high resistance to toxins and poisons.  He possesses limited shape-shifting powers: he can change his hair, skin and eye color, and remold facial features to some degree. His magical skills include the harnessing of fire, lightning, and cold, as well as weak telekinesis (he can move no more than a few pounds).  He has the power to detect portals and other interdimensional openings.
