| Name:Gavin Knightsbridge Race: Human Appearance:Gavin is tall, lean and wiry (6'1 180 lbs) with a sharp hawklike face and long dirty-blonde hair. He usually wears a long trenchcoat (all the better to conceal weapons) jeans and cowboy boots. Personality:like the archetypal Knight of Swords, Gavin is a ruthless, driven man, efficiently destroying any creature of evil he comes across. He is a man of few words, preferring to let his actions (and his weapons) speak for him. Status:When he was in his teens, Gavin Knightsbridge had a traumatic encounter with a gang of vampires, seeing his friends cut down and himself almost killed. The creatures were driven off by the Slayer, the event left its mark on him, and he found he couldn't escape the shadow world so easily. Only a few years later, he left home to learn the life of the professional demon-hunter. For a long time now, he's traveled through North America, rooting out creatures of darkness...for a modest fee. It's a dangerous and dirty job...but hey...it's a living. A year ago, in a pitched battle with an evil wizard a misfired spell threw him across dimensions into the world of Raven's Keep. Gavin struggled to return to Earth and finally succeeded only to discover that the old saying was true: you can't go home again. He is back in Messina now, a demon-hunter no longer, having to find his place in this brave new world. Capabilities/Skills:Gavin is mildly psychic, enough to sense strong emotions in those near him. He is particularly attuned to demonic and magic energies, and can detect them from a range of several city blocks. He does not have any magical skills as such, but knows alot about the shadowy side of nature from books and experience. His old teacher gave him a magical katana containing the spirit of an ancient dragon, and that weapon served him well for many years; but during the daring rescue of Sophia Van Helsing from the clutches of Thonotos, the sword was broken and the dragon released. Some of its power still lives in him, though he's still learning how to use it. He also uses an enchanted crossbow that can on command, draw itself and create a bolt to fire; this weapon has been specifically designed to work against demons and vampires, and its missiles cause great damage to these creatures. Gavin usually wears light body armor, and carries numerous concealed items (knives, lock picks, holy water bottles). |
