Jack the Ripper � a Paradox is a non-fiction book in which two historical figures, the murderer Jack the Ripper and the poet Francis Thompson, are one in the same. The book shows that he committed the infamous series of murders in London in 1888 in order to carry out an ancient magical ritual. Its design was to bring back from the dead his lover that he had murdered in a rage. Dreadful it was to him to find this conjured spirit was not his murdered lover but a vast demonic entity. This brought him to take an even more desperate measure, one that has since affected the course of human affairs. |

Richard.A.Patterson Is the world expert on Francis Thompson as a Jack the Ripper suspect, having spoken in conventions in the U.K on the subject to Ripperologists. He has lectured for Melbourne's La Trobe University�s philosophy department on the role of the press media in the Ripper murders. He is a qualified English teacher who has studied Publishing and Editing at University Level. His previous short non-fiction privately published book �Paradox,� that focuses solely on showing how Thompson is the Ripper, has brought sales, press coverage, positive reviews and letters of praise and encouragement from other authors. He has had purchase enquiries and expressions of interest from private individuals, bookshops, Paisely University, London's Bishops Gate Library, Boston University, and several other libraries here and overseas. He is cited on popular internet sites as an authority on this theory. He has had articles on my theory published in the �Whitechapel Society Journal�, October 2007, and �Ripperologist�, in August 2007. |

Apart from a well-established market for Ripper related books the suspect Francis Thompson was a poet of some renown whose verse is studied as part of the syllabus of many universities across the world. This poet even has his own exhibit room at Boston College. Thompson's works, particularly his 'Hound of Heaven' poem are amongst the most anthologised poems in the English Language. Thompson and his closest associates knew such figures as Coventry Patmore, D H Lawrence, G.K Chesterton, Oscar Wilde, and W.B Yeats. The book weaves together an intriguing poet who lived an incredible life, and arguably the most sensational of modern crimes. |
