CHIORDA
MADE IN ITALY
This Campagnolo equipped, Italian made, Chiorda was found in the basement of a used furniture pawn shop.  A brief period of haggling and for a very modest fee, the bike came home.  The bike is probably from the early to mid seventies.  As is the case with many Italian brands, fancy chrome lugs set off the maufacturer's color choice.
This old Italian lightweight is in good to very good condition, as found, requiring very little work to get on the road.  Few miles have been put on the bicycle since getting it up and running.  Its appeal - the fact that its old and ornately decorated.  The bicycle is one of seven Italian made machines acquired in the past year.  Two early Torpados, an early eighties Bianchi "Rekord" 848(the story behind finding this bicycle is all but uncanny), an Atala "Norhtstar", the two Chiordas featured on this page and one bicycle that has all the markings of a third Torpado of slightly newer vintage.
WHAT IS THIS?
This yard sale bicycle belonged to a woman and like most woman's bikes, it is in very good condition.  A modest fee made acqusition a snap.  Close inspection revealed the complete absence of any kind of decals or stickers that could be used for identification purposes.  What is it?
Closer inspection and comparison suggested, at first, that another Torpada had joined the collection.  Further examination makes it clear that the bike is closer to being a Chiorda than it is a Torpado.  The similarities between the yellow and green bikes are too great to disqualify the possibility and the green bicycle definitely is a Chiorda.
