Psalm 132
Remember, Yahweh, for David's sake, all of his humility,
how he swore to Yahweh
made a vow to the Bull of Jacob:
"I will never enter my tent house,
I will never climb into my nuptial bed
I will never grant sleep to my eyes,
nor repose to my eyelids,
Until I find a place for Yahweh
a tent-shrine for the Bull of Jacob."
Behold we heard of it in Ephrathah,[1]
We found it in the fields of Jaar [Kiriath-jearim].
Let us go to his tent-shrine,
Let us bow low at his footstool.
Arise, Yahweh, [go] to your resting place,
you and your mighty ark.
May your priests be clothed with righteousness,
May your loyal ones give a ringing cheer.
For the sake of David, your servant,
Do not turn back the face of your anointed one.
Yahweh has sworn to David a sure oath,
he will never turn back from it:
"Your own physical descendants I will place on your throne.
If your sons keep my covenant,
the precepts which I taught them,
Even their sons--forever--will occupy your throne."
For Yahweh has chosen Zion,
he desired it for his throne dais:
"This is my resting place forever,
Here I will sit enthroned since I desire this place.
I will bountifully bless with provisions,
Its poor I will satisfy with food.
I will clothe its priests with salvation,
Its loyal ones will in fact give out a ringing cheer.
There I will always cause to sprout for David a powerful horn;
I will prepare for a lamp my anointed one.
His enemies I will clothe with shame,
But his crown will shine over him."
