If Yahweh had not been on our side--let Israel now declare

If Yahweh had not been on our side

When people rose up against us....

Then they would have swallowed us alive

because of their fierce anger against us.

Then the waters would have overwhelmed us,

the stream would have rushed over our life.

Then there would have rushed over us those arrogant waters.

Blessed be Yahweh who has not allowed us to become prey for their teeth.

Our life has escaped like a bird from the trap of the fowlers;

The trap broke and we escaped.

Our help is in the name of Yahweh

maker of heaven and earth.
