Economics

From the Greek Eco "home or household" and Nomikas "management of"

That is "management of the home" from a time when a home was a large establishment filled with family and slaves, the running of which involved an intimate knowledge of several disciplines ranging from building and food preservation to book-keeping and staff management, and a good head for co-ordination!

Nowadays economics is a dirty word, a discipline wholly devoid of moral and scientific integrity, and in practice little better than a priestly exercise in myth-making to praise the wisdom of those in control of Finance and Government, something akin to the Emporer's New Clothes. It is an elaborate, jargon-ridden, incomprehensible and unverifiable mess of verbiage whose main acheivement (and indeed purpose) is to confuse the public, to justify the status quo, and to ridicule the alternatives, with no concern for economic reality or first principles.

Geonomics

From Geo "Earth, Gaia" - the management of the Earth, of the planets resources.

A science that is understandable by any layman, which starts with first principles which are immediately self-evident to any who care to examine them (i.e. of the same nature as Gravity, Violence, Joy, Night and Day), proceeds to a clear definition of basic terms such as Labour, Capital and Land.
Once understood, its workings can be seen in every aspect of human economic exchange, and its ramifications for the structure of any society are widespread and extremely compelling.
