| MINUTES FOR R. A. C. PARENTS/BOOSTER CLUB MEETING MAY 21, 2002 8:00 P.M. RELOCATED FROM R. A. C. GYMNASTICS TO GODFATHER'S PIZZA Meeting called to order at 8:39 p.m. by president, Jim Walker Treasurers Report Director's Reports Preschool: position vacant Cheerleading: position vacant. Steffany Walker reported that tryouts are June 3rd, there will be a mini-camp June 24-26. The cheerleaders will be having a Krispy Kreme fundraisers to help pay for their uniforms Rhythmic/Dance: Lisa Schultz reported that not much is happening with the rhythmic program. She also said thanks for the website. Girls: director absent. Steffany Walker reported that there will be a mini-camp June 17-19. Boys: director absent. Competitive Teams: position absent R. A. C. Rep.: Steffany Walker reported that the gym is planning a sleepover June 8-9. Fundraising Avon: the Avon fundraiser has begun and all money is due May 25th. The money is to be used first to replace worn out rhythmic equipment. The remainder will go to the R. A. C. Booster Club account to help pay for replacing the lights. Krispy Kreme Sale: the Cheer program will be selling Krispy Kreme fundraising cards to help pay for their uniforms. The fundraiser will start June 3rd with pre-orders. Lisa Schultz will be the chairperson. Cartwheel-a-Thon: the annual Cartwheel-a-thon will be May 25th at 1:30 p.m.at Mills Park. The cartwheel-a-thon allows the team gymnasts to help their parents finance the team fees. Vaulting Table Requirement Jim Walker reported on the new requirement for Girl's level 5 and higher to vault on the vaulting table, beginning January 2003. As R. A. C. does not have a vaulting table, it becomes necessary for us to purchase a table to stay competitive. The cost is approximately $4000.00, and suggestions for fundraising to help raise the money were requested. Team Fees Team fees are the yearly fees that each team gymnast must pay that covers their uniform, insurance fees, etc. that they will need throughout the competitive season. Girls Team: $375 due by June 30th (Second year competitors who already own the long sleeved competitive leotard need to pay $300) Girls Training Team: $90 due by June 30th Boys Team: to be decided as the season is closer Rhythmic Team: $225 due by October 15th Cheer Team: $305 due by June 17th (Second year competitors who do not need new skirts, shells or poms need to pay $205) Nominations for Officers Jim Walker announced that elections for officers will be held in July and therefore we need to begin taking nominations for positions at the next meeting. Positions include vice-president, secretary, treasurer, preschool director, cheer director, rhythmic/dance director, girls director, boys director, competitive teams director, and R. A. C. director. For information on each position, please see Jim Walker for a copy of the Bylaws. New Business Steffany Walker announced the new website to help disseminate information. Proposed changing the 2002 Autumn Extreme to include only level 4 gymnasts. She also proposed having a 4th of July party to help advertise the gym. Next Meeting will be held Tuesday, June 11th at 8 p.m. Steffany Walker motioned to adjoun, Lisa Schultz seconded. Unanimous. Meeting adjouned at 9:15. |
