My father was the second son of his house, and therefore, the duties of an heir of a house did not apply to him. He spent his time studying to be a Larmaegister, and consequently he spent most of his time abroad in the libraries and archives of Meduseld, Gondor, Dol Amroth, and Lebennin; it is even said he spent some years in Isengard. After many years of studying abroad, he met my mother in Dol Amroth, and that is why my name has an elvish ring to it; I am often called "healfblod", half-blood, being of both Rohan and Dol Amroth. My uncle, then the lord of our house, was killed hunting a boar. He left no heir, and the title fell upon my father. We moved in my seventh winter to the Westfold. We have lived in the Westfold since, and in those years I studied lore and languages from my father, and learned the art of woodcraft from the head Huntsman of our house. I spent two years as an apprentice under the smith Beagnoth, and four years under a wandering bard, where I learned the Warpipe, harp, whistle, and other of the more common instruments. In my seventeenth winter I rode to Edoras with the purpose of joining the Cavalry. It was a few weeks after I went to the recruiters before I was accepted. The Cavalry only takes the best of Rohan's riders, and I underwent a strenuous exam. By the grace of Bema, I was ordered to train under Feldmarshal (later 3rd Marshal) Feolcwine. He had the best reputation, and I found in him a teacher, leader, and a good friend. When my training was done, I transfered to the Westmark, the finest of the Eoreds, if I may be so bold as to say. In them I found a group of soldiers who became to me as family, perhaps more so. Rt. 3rd Marshal Feolcwine, Rt. 3rd Marshal Rohwyn, 3rd Marshal Blaedtunge, Feldmarshal Sicilius, Paethfindians Amhran and Elswyth, Maegsterwigend Lana, and Sperewigend Eorinae; we have all fought, and shed our blood in battle together. With soldiers like these, Rohan will never fall!

And here is the most famous of Rohirric steeds- Pferd the Wonder horse. He is cynical, he has no sense of direction, he only speaks German, he is addicted to ale, he's PFERD!!! Pferd is a large Trakehner warhorse, who has been my constant companion for many years. He is a dependable, if opinionated, horse.

Here is the newest aquisition to my stables. Lyegn is short, stout, hunting mare that I acquired from the Elhleoht Mdum (Moonlight Meadows), upon the counsel of Rohwen, a Sperewigend of Meduseld, and one very knowledgable in horse lore. I have yet to ride Lyegn in a hunt, for she is now being lodged at my father's hall, awaiting the time when I shall have leave to ride her. She is being trained as a hunter by my father's head Huntsman. |
