So who is this Pellakal dude anyway?
Pellakal's Plaza Persona
Well, that's a bit of a story. My real name is David. I am a college student (oh horrors!), with my major in European Military History and Historical Preservation. I have ineffable good taste in neckties and hats (which are sadly going out of fashion! Join my Save the Hat Club!), and I admire the European Royalty. Most of them have very good tailors; I highly suggest a suit from Gieves and Hawkes.

I am an American Civil War reenactor. As an active member in the American Civil War Association (
ACWA), I reenact both sides. I am a Sergeant in the Union side, and a Private in the Confederacy. I have been a reenactor for over 4 years now, and have done infantry, artillery, and staff. I also play the bass drum in the California Consolidated Drum Band (CCDB).

My intrests, though stricly historical, are quite wide. I am intrested in almost every aspect of culture and warfare of the Europeans from the early medieval age to the Edwardian times. At the moment, I am concentrating on furthering my knowledge of Ancient Warfare and medieval paleography.

I play the Highland Bagpipes in a pipeband, the Bay Area based Irish Heritage Pipe Band (
IHPB). We are a Grade 4 competition pipeband, under the leadership of P/M Mike LeBoeuf.

At the moment, I am unfortunatly engaged in academic studies (General Ed. *shudders*) at Butte Comunity College. My most relaxing class of the day is my German language class, and our College has even formed a
German Club, and I desinged and emblazoned the coat of arms that was chosen for the club.

I am also (obviously!) a J. R. R. Tolkien fan, and have been since age 12. That was when I was in a play based on the Hobbit. I played an Elf (ah! The truth is out! *hangs head in shame*). When the first movie came out, I had the wonderful idea to look about on the internet to see if there were any Tolkien sites, and ran into
the Lord of the Rings Fanatics Plaza, and was hooked.

Well, that's about as much information about me that I am willing to lay out.
What ho, a blog!
