CD Review for Satanic Surfers- Going Nowhere Fast
I had been really into Satanic Surfers a couple months before this record came out, so I was pretty pumped. What I heard when I popped it into my CD player was an unbelievable improvement (which I didn't think was possible) and an incredibly solid album. Starting with a fast paced instrumental Intro and then quickly moving into Worn Out Words (possibly the best song on the CD) which is a wicked speed skate punk song. Rodrigo's voice on this album is one of the best I've ever heard and is almost soothing. It is kinda deep but he holds notes with a pretty damn cool style. I find the lyrical content exceptional as always with this band, inspirational lyrics with lots of hidden subtexts. The guitars on this CD are really good and intricate while being strong and powerful, but occasionally they sound a bit too similar, but this doesn't happen often. I don't know what else to say except get this, it is a really good CD. Apparently the new album Fractions and Fragments is supposed to be better, and if that happens I might shit myself.
This gets a well deserved 89/100
